There is no exact "jack of all trades" character. It's hard to find a balance of EVERYTHING, especially when you only have 8 skill slots. Personally, starting off, I'd say with the overused W/Mo or W/E. They're either very good at self-sustaining, or self-protection.

Do not think there's a profession that can do EVERYTHING though. Every profession in this game has a foil (weakness) in another profession. Stick with something that interests you and build on that.

i refer you to this description lol ...

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content/ranger-id242.php

and quote "The Ranger is one of the most diverse classes to play in Guild Wars. No other profession says "Jack of All Trades" like the ranger."

fyi ... but finish your sentence ... jack of all trades but master of none.

I'd look at the skills listing and find some cool skills or attributes before deciding a charaacter.

well ive chosen to make a ra/earth el with expertise, marksmanship, wilderness survival, and earth magic. my job would be to create chaos with my arrows(special effects like poison or exploding arrows) and traps and use aoe and pbaoe spells. what would be some good skills to pick up?
